  • Indian weddings are vibrant, joyful, and full of tradition! Expect colorful attire, lively music, delicious food, and a few events spread over multiple days. From the pre-wedding celebrations to the main ceremony and reception, each moment is filled with love, laughter, and cultural rituals. Don’t worry if you're new to it all — just come ready to celebrate, dance, and enjoy the experience with us!

  • Easiest way to get there is to fly into Florence airport. You can also fly into Rome or Milan and take the train to Florence. The venue and accommodations are about 30 minutes outside of the city of Florence.

  • The easiest way to get from the Florance airport to the venue is via a personal vehicle. Feel free to share a car with your group. There will be parking available at the venue and all accommodations. Additionally, transportation from the accommodations will be provided to and from scheduled events.

  • We have reserved space on multiple properties, all within 10 minutes of the venue, to accommodate every guest. Ajay and Michael will be reaching out with more information regarding booking and payment. Please see the Travel and Accommodations page for more information.

  • Michael is a teacher and Ajay is an aspiring pediatric ENT. Yes, your children are welcome.

  • Not at all! We’ve listed options for the western equivalent dress code with each event. The most important thing for us is that you feel comfortable in what you’re wearing.

  • For feminine options, there are many retailers that ship directly to the US in various price ranges. Some examples:

    • The Saree Room - one potential option for pre-draped sarees

    • SANI available through Nordstrom - mid range option with indo-western styles

    • Lashkaraa - mid range option 

    • Kalki fashion - mid to high end designer shipping to the US

    • Pernia’s pop up shop - multi-designer marketplace with mid range and high-end designer options

    • Indya - more affordable option, could be considered for sangeet

    • Holichic by Megha - midrange option, has many into-western designs

    • Panash - large scale retailer with numerous options at low to mid range price points

    • Utsav Fashion - similar to Panash

    Of course, you do not have to limit your search to the designers above. These are just some options that have been used/vetted. We’ve included some outfit types for each event below to help your search. 

    • For the sangeet: consider looking for outfits like:  sharara suits, palazzo suits, jumpsuits, light/printed or mirror worked lehenga sets

    • For the wedding ceremony: consider search terms salwar kameez sets (AKA suit and dupatta, churidar) or a simple saree. If you don’t know how to tie a saree, we suggest “pre-draped” or “easy-drape” or “ready to wear” sarees.

    • For the reception: consider more grand/embroidered/bead work lehengas, pre-draped sarees, indo-western gowns

    For masculine options that ship directly to the US, consider designers such as

    • Manyavar - workhorse menswear brand with many options at consistent quality and standard pricing

    • Pernia’s pop up shop - multi-designer marketplace with mid range and high-end designer options

    • Kalpraag - newer menswear brand with modern designs

    • Indya - more affordable option, could be considered for sangeet

    • Kalki fashion - mid to high end designer shipping to the US

    • Lashkaraa - another good mid range option

    • Panash - large scale retailer with numerous options at low to mid range price points

    For search terms, consider the following for each event

    • Sangeet: Kurtha set with light bead/mirror work, printed kurthas , Kurtha Jacket set, Bandi Vest / Nehru Jacket

    • Wedding: Linen shirts with dress pants, simple/print kurtha, printed vests, dhoti pants

    • Reception: kurtha set with bead work (silk, heavier fabrics), sherwani, bandhgala, jodhpuri suit, indo-western suits and tuxedos

  • We want you to look your absolute best. If you love it but you’re not sure if it’s too much, trust us – it’s not too much.   • For the ceremony, avoid red. For the reception, avoid primarily white outfit (white with other color will be fine). Otherwise, do you!
